1-19-12 Ice conditions in the Deer River area remain good. Ice thickness ranges from 16 to 24 inches and with a major cold snap in our area, ice is making fast now.
Walleye action has slowed during the day, but Lake Winnibigosh has a reliable evening bite. There are Perch in shallow water to keep you busy during the day, while you wait for the twilight bite.
